8/10

Parking  Longbridge Deverill  BA12 7DS

Starting today at Longbridge Deverill and soon after start we cross the River Wylye, where on return i saw 1 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron and 90% sure an Otter disappearing into river edge in center of this picture !

After  a couple of fields a trigpoint @Horningsham  175m. with view to where we are heading Cold Kitchen hill.

Sign post covers all surrounding villages

St John The Baptist Church, Horningsham.

A highlight  a Red Kite soaring above fields !!

Red Kite was on that tree line at bottom, but a nice view from here.

Soon we come to a beacon after a climb up Whitecliff down with the views either side getting better all the time .

Starting walk with very cloudy misty conditions the blue skies starting to show through, despite the weather forecast!

The only other 2 walkers we saw all day !

Now the trigpoint at Cold Kitchen Hill 257m and views across the Deverills and a good place to stop for a sandwich or soup !

Where we are heading .

Onto Pertwood farm property and a very bird friendly place with Yellowhammers,Chaffinch, Linnet and Corn bunting spotted.

House Sparrow many Lesser Black backed,
Black Headed Gulls also corvids with Raven as well.

Crossing the River Wylye again very clear waters, a typical trout chalk stream.

Church of St. Michael the Archangel, Brixton Deverill.

Looking back to where we've walk now totally blue and very pleasant ! The clump of trees on skyline took us around 40 mins to walk to where we are now !

Then back to start, remember at river to keep eyes peeled for Otter !
So overall a really nice walk and nice to be out walking with my mate again !

Thats all for this week, join me again next week  :)
