131. Pewsey White Horse (9.5 miles)

A Really nice walk this one with outstanding views over Pewsey and towards last week walk at Marborough.Starting at Pewsey soon a gentle stroll along Kennet and Avon Canal to start.


Then on to Fyfield Hill and Milton hill Some great views.

Over Fyfield Saw Lapwing in fields and a Red Kite !!

Rolling Roads and hills 


 This called Green drovn and Pewsey at  its end.


Pewsey White Horse ,Really ! its not bad 1937 built so that's 87 years old !


Looks good from a distance 


To End Walk Saw Stonechats,Kestrel,Sparrowhawk and another Red  Kite Stunning ,The Bird not my poor photo ! :)

130. Marlborough White Horse (11 miles)

Some badly marked paths on this walk follow my line you'll be good !

Northern section of GWR branch Marlborough Railway

Some enormous fields on this walk !


Martinsell hill a fine looking hill


Views across to Severnake Forest


Even spotted the London Victoria to Bristol
LNER A1 Class 4-6-2 no 60163 Tornado pulling Belmond British Pullman 
for all you train spotters !



Its behind you ,a trigpoint that is missed it !


A fine bench here .


Are 10th  Trigpoint of the year
and second one on Martinsell Hill,this one Giants Grave.


Milk hill and Walkers hill Alton Barnes in distance.


Marlborough high street


The Marlborough White Horse, also called the Preshute White Horse, is a hill figure on Granham Hil. Dating from 1804, it is one of several such white horses to be seen around Great Britain, and one of nine in Wiltshire thats one more to do for us Pewsey remaining.
This horse is 62 feet long by 47 high.

129.Paulton Or Plauto' (11.3 miles)

Hart's Lane Railway Bridge now sadly unused.Camerton Branch Line-GWR to Limpley Stoke,Bristol & North Somerset Railway-Quarry junction and Frome to Bristol Line used to run over this daily !

Paulton Trigpoint stands at  155ft

Once up the very, very steep Hill the views were stunning,
bit of a stray of the path for this one but worth the the scramble !


Even the fields look good ,there are a lot of fields and sty's on this walk .


Now up looking down mmmmm 



Well i'm down ,as usual but...................


While waiting for oooo it's steep ,Help !!
 saw lots of Puff-balls on ground 20/30 !


Now on the Norton Radstock Greenway 
the old Railway line and on the bridge that crosses the A362


Cows good on this walk most not worried we were sharing the field 
which was nice !
