135.Tunneling Under Bath (8.63 miles)

Parking  Upper Bloomfield Rd,Bath BA2 2RU




Didnt wanna drive to far today so one close to home.
 Starting @Odd down Bath ,once parked off down Bloomfield road with great views over Bath


The golden glow of the sun ! in the distance Bristol and the house is Kelston Park .,now offices of U2.com ! didn't know that !


Then the main event Two Tunnels of Midford


Inside Tunnels led lighting and opera to entertain us on walk through


On Exit past Lake took advantage of an open gate a cup of Tea and some viewage !


Blue skies and sunshine temp around 12c it's December !


Small lake and more great views 


Could be anywhere ! not 1.5 miles from Bath


A really nice walk if not a little muddy climbing up to this Trigpoint,
Done every reference point on this map ! 

A Good way to end the Year .33 walks in some excellent countryside a total of 294 miles this year .

134. Spaxton to Wills neck(10.8 miles)

Parking @Victoria Way,Spaxton,Bridgwater, Somerset TA5 1BQ



The final part of the Quantock tour .starting at the small hamlet of Spaxton we climb the hills for some 6.5 miles With some great views then 4.5 mile easy downhill

All was going so well until,Worse path ever Brambles for a 1/4 of mile, up hill and in mud !!!
I gave them a good thrashing but legs and hands ripped !


Nice seat on Cothelstone hill views towards Minehead and the Brendan hills
Sun was blazing causing haze over landscapes :( 
                         still a very cold wind


Did i mention some great views !


Stunning stuff 


On up over Lydeard hill and on to Wills Neck its Trigpont


 The highest point on the Quantocks @ 386m-1266.4ft


seen a few Ponies seemed happy in the sun


Then @ Hawkridge Reservoir i spotted a Hooded Merganser !!
 i thought i found a first but no,
it seems an escapee :( its a long way from usa ! shame still tweet i put out had over 100 views !



Almost back after a lovely day spent with my mate 
seen this Buzzard in a garden ! if only my garden !
