Parking @ GL9 1HT

A walk starting at Tormarton,South Glos.
After being Stopped by Police on driving to start , not a nice way to start the Day !! All legal so onwards .We enter first field and head towards and cross A46 a busy road and on to the Cotswold Way.leaving the noise behind we enter Dodington Park with gardens by Capability Brown
The current house was built in
1798 and 1813 It was bought in 2003 by the industrialist James Dyson,Although we dont see house gardens grounds very nice .Now comes 13 stys alot of gates then on to Railway Crossing Bridge and in to Chipping Sodbury and on to The  Frome Valley  Walkway.
Then to Old Sodbury and Little Sodbury Iron Age hill fort a impressive Bronze to Iron age encampment atop the Cotswold Ridge, The fort is approx. 11acres in size and is made up of a double set of ditches and ramparts. It's location is a mystery due to it's relative difficulty in access and lack of fresh water supplies locally, but is thought to be connected with the much ruined Horton hill fort nearby. Local legend claims the Romans refortified the camp after the invasion, and it was almost certainly utillised during the wars of the roses.
From Here an Easy follow back to Tormarton And Finish .Some Views a Fort and the Railway Breather Turrets which were Cool ,its a low score . :(
